Enjoying the last few days in the States

With only a few days left before we leave for South Africa I have found myself strangely alone. I graduated a little over a week ago and it was a weekend full of excitement and celebration. My parents were in town and my coaches even came up to see me walk across stage (in my soccer cleats! Haha). Now the campus seems empty and I hardly see anyone I know. However I enjoy doing things on my own and even went to see a movie by myself for the first time. I realized that for the next 7 weeks I am going to be with 19 other people non-stop. They are all my good friends and I know I am going to have a great time with them, but I am glad I had some alone time prior the trip. It wasn’t too long ago that I hated to be alone. Jesus has changed that. No matter where I go or what I do, I know that he loves me. Spending alone time study the Bible is also really powerful. I have been studying through Hebrews this semester and I love it when I can just read through a couple verses and just take my time in the Word. God has grown me tremendously in my knowledge of His word. I am hoping and praying that God would use me to teach others to study the Bible down in South Africa. This missions trip has been a blessing in my life. The support raising has been huge piece of that blessing because I have been able to connect with people who get to share in the joy that God has in store for us in Johannesburg! I will be able to blog about once a week while I’m down there! So stay tuned for updates :)
